“Join my journey as you go through yours”
I founded Searching For Silver Linings (SFSL) in high school with a goal to provide affordable and accessible mental health resources to teenagers while creating a community built on self-empowerment.
Everything was originally built in 2021, and while I no longer do apparel, I have continued my podcast throughout college (2024). Everything marked with an asterisk was created in (2021). The brand has also seen a logo change as part of the rebrand which can be seen towards the bottom. This ultimately reflects my ever-changing life and how I’ve grown with this project.
Some of the impacts I’ve made from this project:
Generated 200+ purchases on Amazon by publishing a mental health workbook
Raised $5K+ for mental health initiatives by launching an apparel collection, managing the entire go-to-market process from supply chain logistics to campaign execution
Built a loyal audience of 100+ podcast listeners by producing 20+ episodes centered on youth well-being
Let’s take a look at what SFSL can provide for you …

Every 4 weeks or month focuses on a different topic of self improvement; month one is focusing on "Self-Confidence, Self-Esteem, Self-Love"
This is the layout of each page, and throughout the span of two weeks it is encourage to fill out all five of the "little things".
Through online research, it takes five positives to outweigh a negative. That's why there are five things to write down.
*Spotify Podcast
Searching For Silver Linings Podcast offers a new level of relatability and vulnerability for its listeners.
The host, Kyle Shih, shares his experiences with mental health, daily discoveries, and revelations as he creatively navigates through adulthood.
Podcasts were originally uploaded throughout the month in which an apparel collection is also dropping.
Now, podcasts are uploaded monthly covering unique topics such as journaling, how to deal with rejection, and the ever-changing life of a 20 year old.
I started these podcasts in high school and for some reason I can’t seem to leave this project. I’ve always came back to them no matter how busy I get. This is my digital journal, a documentation of my journey for others to see while they experience their own.

*“You Are Enough” Apparel Collection (Drop 1)
Every logo designed for our apparel collections have a meaning behind it. Read more about our most recent collection above!
Playing off of the idea that self-worth is defined from the INside, we decided to make our logo INverted.
Each apparel collection has its main logo and every post on our instagram matches the “aesthetic” of it for that period of time.
The “You Are Enough” logo is intentionally made inverted because when looked at in the mirror, the logo flips to the correct logo.
We have sold over 100 units across hoodies and shirts for this collection and have generated over $1500 in profit.
A portion of these profits are donated to the JED Foundation in hopes to fight teen mental health issues.
Every piece of our apparel aims to empower those who choose to wear it. With each design having a self-empowerment theme behind it, we hope it serves as a reminder of that message when wearing our apparel.
*“555 Silver Linings” Apparel Collection (Drop 2)
Read more about our most recent collection above and the meaning behind 555. All images taken by me on a DSLR.
The apparel was created and launched during the summer so we aimed to stay on theme with its colors.
For this collection we had a limit of 20 units and sold out of all units in under 48 hours.
*The “Silver Linings” Way
To create this theme, every Instagram story and post “hints” at the final logo/ apparel by using colors, fonts, and designs.
Each apparel collection has a specific “aesthetic” or theme to its logo and colors.
The posts slowly start to reveal more about the final apparel design as the launch date gets closer.
9 Days out from the release date, we break up the final logo into 9 different Instagram posts for the entire logo to be revealed on the last day.
I also created my own posting schedule of when specific graphics need to be completed/posted to fit the agenda of our “grid launch”.

Rebranding SFSL
Original Logo (2021)
New Logo (2025)
I felt like I had changed so much from high school to college that it needed to reflect in the work that I was creating too.

I wanted this rebranding to focus on the imperfections of young adulthood and the many “things” that simply happen in life. With an emphasis on a scrapbook style, it represents how I am piecing my own life together… taking the advice and ideas from different spaces, friends, communities I encounter along the way.
